It’s January 10th, 2011 and it is getting close to the traditional time to make camping reservations in the Ontario Parks system. If you snooze, you lose and this can mean that you might not get a campsite at your favourite park if you don’t reserve five months in advance. Many of the most popular parks have campgrounds that fill up five months in advance, including: Algonquin, Killbear, The Pinery, Sandbanks and others.
Most summer campers in Ontario start making their reservations in early February for July. However, this year there could be a delay in making advance reservations because Ontario Parks is revamping their reservation system. You can learn more by clicking this link: http://www.ontarioparks.com/english/reservations/.
The new system should be available in early 2011, so keep monitoring the Ontario Parks website http://www.ontarioparks.com/ to ensure that you have the opportunity to make your reservations when the new system is live.
Keep monitoring this blog as well. We will be showcasing parks across Ontario over the next few months, to help you select the parks that meet your needs. In the meantime, check out these photos to remind you that summer is just around the corner.
